New members for 2025 survey the sailing area

This is to report the death of one of the Club’s most enthusiastic previous committee members, Jean Proudlove (nee Mcleod). Jean, who was in her nineties, passed away peacefully on December 23rd in the Barlochan Nursing Home, Palnackie.

During the late 1970s and early 1980s she was responsible for the social activities of the Club. Senior members have fond memories of her outstanding catering skills, providing much needed sustenance after racing and also the many dinners she organised not only throughout the sailing season but also during winter evenings as well. Her late husband Frank was an accomplished dinghy sailor and also accompanied John Copland on cruiser visits to the Isle of Man. Jean’s funeral will take place on Monday January 10th at 11am at Colvend Church.
