During the week Solway Yacht Club welcomed Philip Williams who is walking the coast of Britain in aid of Alzheimer Society and Alzheimer (Scotland) hoping to raise £1000,000 and gathering information for a book. Starting in Brighton in February 2010 he is now making his way north along the coast of Dumfries and Galloway. The club provided Philip with lunch after spending the night with David Henderson a club member. After lunch the club ferried Philip up river to Palnackie docks to continue his journey.
